Halloweek is here!!  I am starting this month off with a classic 80s movie, Beetlejuice.  A goth kid classic, Remy fell naturally into the role of kooky Beetlejuice while Zara's hatred of her wig gave her that perfect Lydia demeanor.  I love this movie so much and I am glad to be able to share it with our girls. Halloweek . Zoolander

So here we are...Halloweek #4! Only the big day left!  We've already done an iconic fashion duo...how about a faux iconic fashion duo?  I present to you Mugatu and Katinka Ingaborgovinananana from the movie Zoolander.  We opted for their "Derelicte" fashion show looks and here is a quick refresher on those looks:

Zara was really unhappy with her faux glitter lips and wig.  Since I want to assure that no babies are harmed in the making of my tomfoolery, we opted to add her glam in post...I hope you can forgive us.  Since the costumes were altered and pieced together, I'm not going to list all of the products used, but feel free to leave a comment if you'd like info/instructions on what I did with each one!  On to the looks!

I cannot believe it's almost over!  Please note that next week's post will be after Halloween, as we will be dressing up Monday evening.  I hope you have a magical time with your families and loved ones and cannot wait to see all the amazing costumes this year! <3

Halloweek . Orphan Black

Orphan Black is one of our favorite shows.  The lead actress, Tatiana Maslany plays 1989872384 parts, as her characters are clones of each other.   For character reference, as some of you may not be familiar with the show, Zara is Sarah Manning:

and Remy is Helena:

Helena, having been raised in the Ukraine, refers to all of her clones as "sestras" as in sisters in Ukrainian.  Ever since finding our we were having a second girl, we have referred to them this way.  So here we go, sestras!

Halloweek . Anna + Karl

When I was deciding this year's looks, I kept trying to think of famous duos.  An iconic photo of Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld came to mind.  A quick image of Remy as Karl popped in my head and thus, here is Halloweek #2: Anna + Karl.  To be honest: my Anna Wintour had a hard time (tooth #5 is ready to bust out), so please give her a pass this week.

Halloweek . Stranger Things

Happy Halloweek!  This is the first Monday of 5 in October featuring Remy and Zara in costumes.  We are starting with characters from the Netflix show Stranger Things!  Remy's Barb look was mostly vintage plus jeans from Target.  Zara aka Eleven is wearing my sister's handmade dress from the 80s with accessories from Target/Old Navy.  They had so much fun and THANKFULLY no one ended up in the upside down!
