She's in Parties: Monster Mayhem

Full disclosure: I used this theme for Remy's first birthday.  You can see the whole process of me "pinning it out" on my Pinterest here.  It's really such a wonderful motif because you can basically stick 100000 googley eyes on everything at it looks amazing.  These 2 pictures above were my starting inspo for the color scheme and party theme (cookie recipe can be found here). It snowballed from here, finding all sorts of things from favors to pillows to party bags.  Below are pictures from the actual party, but if you want any resources feel free to leave a comment or pilfer through my Pinterest board.

Food table. We bought 1 tooth picks and added a gazillion eye stickers to them.

We made a photo area complete with monster pillow. I made our headgear with pom-poms, glue, and google eyes.

Gift Table. Target sells these monster bags…they are BEYOND!

Maybe my favorite element. We cut vampire fangs in half and used them to make donut monsters. SO cheap and easy, but the cute payoff is high.

We did a little favor station with bubbles, candy, fangs, tattoos and monster pins for the guests.

First birthday's are a good time to go over the top.  We certainly did…I cannot wait to do Zara's in January! What did you do for your kids' first birthdays?

Gap Halloween

I'm going to be honest: I'm not a huge fan of the Gap. In fact, I would go so far as to say I wouldn't have even checked it for Halloween gear if my mom hadn't told me I should.  But seriously, I'm glad she did because this year they have really brought out their best.  From ghosts to bones to monsters, the toddler and baby stuff is perfect for a year 'round spooky household.
